The Christmas Aftermath

My friend Amy over at Something So Big had a HILARIOUS post....Christmas Fall Out-A Month Later. So I just had to write my own!

I have to say:

Santa did all right this year.

I can't say that about previous years but this year he had the Girlies mostly figured out.

Dear Santa, the kid camera and the tricycle were HUGE hits! But next year I think perhaps you should stick to one or two gifts for each Girlie instead of the three you brought this year.

Sorry Santa- there were a few gifts that didn't work out. I know you had the Best of Intentions.

1) Play skis. Sorry Santa- you should have just brought the Real Deal. We can't use these skis on the slopes. Hard to use at home. So...here they are and I'm guessing here they'll stay until Spring time clean up:

2) eeBoo Classic Bingo. Can we say SnoozeFest? B.O.R.I.N.G. This is just a glorified matching game with pretty pictures. Might be amusing for the 2-year old but kind of boring for the rest of us. Sorry Santa. I know you intended it to be a game for the entire family to play but well...I think we'll find something else to play with. (I will say the Zingo game that Grandma and Grandpa got the Girlies is lots of fun.)

3) Honey Bee Tree. This was my suggestion to Santa (sorry Santa!). I'd seen it listed in so many toy catalogues and it had a list of awards that I thought for sure it'd be The Brilliant Game. I think the theory behind it is that the kids work on their hand-eye coordination while setting up the game (putting the leaves through the holes). That's great if the kids actually do the setting up! So far I've been the one to set up the game and let me tell you it's a pain-in-the-neck! It takes me about 10+ minutes to set it up and about only 2 minutes to play the game (okay...I haven't actually timed it). Ava did try setting up the game today and she gave up after a few minutes. It's not even easy for an adult!

Now it's your turn to share with us! Tell us what bombed this year....who knows? It might save others from a disaster next Christmas!

Oh that Honey Bee Tree looks like the Toy from Hell. (sorry to swear online) Seriously!!

Break the ice is kind of the same way. All the set up for just a couple minutes fun.

Thank you for stopping by on my SITS day last week...I love all the comments and felt very appreciated. Sorry it has taken me so long to share bloggy love back!

I'm pretty sure I know where Santa got the idea for the pretent skis...and I agree...didn't really work out. But I'm happy that real skiing has worked out so well!!!

Santa thought about getting the Honey Bee Tree game. Glad he didn't get it. As a consolation, the bike has been a dud but the electric blanket has been well-used by all of us. Go figure.

This is a neat idea! I've been meaning to post an "aftermath" type of thing.
The bee game looks similar to Kerplunk! And it WAS a pain in the A*# to set up!

AVOID the Scooby Doo Haunted House game. PLEASE. Worst game ever - and only partly from setup.

Zingo is a great game though. We love that one! The Super Hero Matching Game is also another winner around our house, and oddly enough for playing with the figures, not just playing the game.

Thanks so much for stopping by on my SITS day! This has been so much fun, and I really hope you come back to visit again soon!

Darn that santa and his over-consuming ways;)....Could you put a ps in that the darn Honey Bee Tree needs to be banned from his bag altogether because other moms (ahem) also may have thought it would be something other than a royal pain in the....ah, well, I've successfully pitched it into the trash when no one was looking:)
