Not sure about these

I made these the other night - I had some small stretched canvases laying (or is it lying?) around. I wish I could get a better photo of them but NONE of my close up photos turned out. I think they're missing something...but what? One is of a bird & the other is supposed to be a pumpkin topiary (in honor of all those I've seen in Blog Land) with the word FALL on it.
Do you think they could use some antiquing? Are they missing something? Frames? I just wanted to keep them super simple...
I'm planning on making more of them and and make them seasonal- hopefully a fun way to decorate but I first have to figure out what to do.
I'm sure some of you will notice that I painted over my birds. I felt like their time had come. Some day I'll tile behind the woodstove- when I have an abundance of cash & energy! HA!

How fun! I think they could definitely use color in the background, whether it be by antiquing or dry brushing with paint. I love the bird!! Personally, I wouldn't use frames. I too like it simple. I really like your wall color!
CUTE!
M ^..^
I like them - I think some frames will help to balance the size a bit more with the space- maybe rustic/distressed wood?
I'm thinking they look great but need frames also.
I like them frameless, but think a colored background on them would make them stand out more and feel more finishes. As for balancing the space, I think adding two more cute pictures would do the trick! Can't waiting to seem them in person in two weeks!
