Alaska Trip: Homer

We got soooo very lucky....Oma (my mom) had a business trip that coincided perfectly with our trip to Homer. We surprised the Girlies...we didn't even tell them in advance that their Oma would also be in Homer.

While Mark got to go on an all-day ocean fishing charter, Oma, Annika, Ava and I went beach combing & tide pool observing in the morning. The tide was wayyyyyy out so we could really see all kinds of critters.

Annika chasing sea gulls. Go Annika, Go!

Lunch at the Cosmic Kitchen. The best place to eat in Homer. Period. Don't miss it!

Annika's funny too-big-green Crocs. Her tennis shoes got soaked so we needed to find replacement shoes. Do you know how hard it is to find child size shoes in Homer????? They must not have any little kids there!

Gorgeous bed & breakfast we stayed at: Brigitte's Bavarian B&B. We'll definitely be staying here again!

Neat sauna:

Just look at Brigitte's beautiful flower & veggie garden:

Daddy caught 2 halibut and 3 silver salmon! Yummmmy! Woohoo!

Fake salmon...but funny. And huge!

Can you read the sign?
It say "Fish Hook Removal".
One word: OUCH!

That looks like a spectacular B&B. It looks like it's worth a trip to Homer just to stay there! I'll bet the girls were in heaven with all that wide-open beach combing. Looks like a really great Alaska side trip.
