Mocha:: Our Playmate
This is our buddy...her name is Mocha.
While we've had Mocha ever since she was a tiny puppy the girls never had much interaction with her until this fall.
That's because in late October we went from being a two-dog family to a one-dog family.
It was an event I couldn't even blog about as it was an extremely sad affair for us- we lost our bestest buddy- a black lab named Moofie. Moofie was our first child- he was a wedding gift from Mark's parents. He went with us nearly everywhere and was always a happy,cheerful, Frisbee-fetching dog. Until one day in late October...he didn't look like he was enjoying life anymore and he couldn't get up (he was 15 years old- which is certainly old for a lab).
Something magical happened though ...
Annika took over caring for Mocha- and she wasn't scared of dogs. Ava also loves taking care of Mocha.
And every day the girls get Mocha out to play with for a couple of hours. Mocha has gone from being a dog that ignored the girls to one that wags her tail so hard that her entire body waves & shakes every time she sees Annika or Ava.
In the end, both the girls and Mocha realized that they enjoy each other's company.
Mocha's favorite activity: fetching the stick!
I hope this bond continues to grow between Mocha and the girls....
