Feeding the piggies

Piggies?

You might be asking yourself does Astrid have pigs? (NO! and I might add never!)

I'm talking about the tiny hummingbirds that are buzzing all around us! I have several bird feeders that I'm constantly filling with sugar water (4 parts water:1 part sugar). As soon as those little piggies run out of food they do fly-bys- they fly by my windows. Is it just me or are they trying to tell me something?

It's amusing to watch them do battles with each other. They're extremely territorial!

The one extremely annoying thing is that they won't stay in one place long enough for me to get one lousy photo of them. I've even tried standing by a feeder and waiting for a long time for one to come by. Then as soon as I give up and leave they come swooping in! Grrr!
