{Beach} Time!

Rosy Mound Beach...How do we love thee?

Thou art our favorite beach!

With your miles of sandy beach... nearly devoid of all other Human Life Forms...

with your endless supply of tiny clam and mussel shells...and fish bones to find & examine!

How we love thy nearly-warm-enough-but-will-swim-in-it-anyway water.

How we love making "kites" out of towels...

and how we truly love thee for all the fun waves that thou hast provided us with for
body surfing!

We shout in Joy!

And we thank thee for thy lovely long walk which seems to deter other Humanoids from entering...

And we thank thee for the lovely work-out you gave us adults so that we could enjoy Annika's birthday dinner without any guilt!

We had a super-duper, absolutely amazing trip to Lake Michigan with Uncle Ray and cousins Lily & Gregory.  We adults were a little bit paranoid that the beach would be crawling with hundreds of people (it was Coast Guard Festival time in Grand Haven which means the beach is always packed to the gills with people)...but our fears were completely unfounded.  Uncle Ray had to stop at TWO mega-stores in order to find one Frisbee! (and he had only two to choose from at the store he found them at) Yikes!  Guess it's the wrong time of year to be buying Frisbees?!

Rosy Mound has a 0.7 mile walk out to the beach - which seems to deter others.  What a blessing!

I spent most of my time in the water: swimming, wading, playing & body surfing.  The girls spent most of their time on the beach: finding shells & feathers and just playing & digging in the sand.  The guys played lots of Frisbee.  (or rescuing it from the waves)

By the time other people arrived at the beach we were ready to pack up and leave.  Now that's what I call Perfect Timing.
