Photos of (nearly) Flooding Mississippi River

Saturday afternoon stroll down by the Mississippi River in downtown St. Louis: 

 Ack!  He's nearly drowning!  (That's a statue. Of Lewis.  Or is it of Clark?  Anyway no need to worry!  Apparently the statue is of a man standing in a boat.  Hmm....)

 Water is almost up over the road.

And now- one day later- (Sunday morning) it IS over the road.  Flood gates were closed (making it hard for visitors who don't know their way around to get where they think they need to be!).  Guess we can't drive down that road!

The river is expected to peak out tomorrow (Tuesday) or Wednesday.... hopefully St. Louis stays dry!
