So, over the past two evenings the girlies and I have made/baked/decorated a batch of yummy cookies!
INTERMISSION.
Today's concert will be conducted by Annika and Ava will be performing on the drums. They will be performing an Annika (and Ava) original piece. (They did try performing Jingle Bells with mixed results).
Decorating the cookies; Day 2
Anybody else think it's hilarious that Ava chose a Halloween outfit today? Okay kiddo!
Is that Jean's old stand mixer? I remember my mom and Jean grinding wheat and making bread allllll day long when we had snow days. The windows of the house would all steam up. Beth and I would lay across her bed and read. Not to each other but to ourselves. We thought that was the best. My momma and Jean would give us wheatberries to chew. And then the bread was done...... Some of my best childhood memories. Remember that Beth?
I love Annika the conductor. Where did she learn to do that anyway??? The cookies look like tons of fun too. Emily--yes that is my mom's mixer. Did you know that my mom's grandmother got that mixer USED? I think it might have been the first electric appliance EVER...
Oh, yeah Emily - I *DO* remember that, now that you mention it. It's one of those memories that might have stayed stored away in the cobwebby places of my mind forever if you hadn't reminded me. But yup. Cozy, warm, fuzzy memories indeed! And yes, that's the very same stand mixer.
I have heard of "dinner and a movie" - but in your house it is cookies and music (with side show) - it always looks like both Annika and Ava are having a lot of fun :)
Her outfit! Too cute~ Today after chopping down our Christmas tree, my daughter kept saying she wanted to go to the pumpkin patch again. I was trying to explain to her that Halloween was over and Christmas was coming but somehow the two go hand in hand.
Your daughters name is Ava~ My sister and I were pregnant at the same time with girls and were fighting over that name. She heard it first, but we were mad at each other =0
